The House In The Park

A film by Hercli Bundi

Synopsis

Swiss architects Buchner/Bründler, Christ/Gantenbein, Herlach/Hartmann/Frommenwiler and Herzog & de Meuron have been invited by Chinese artist Ai Weiwei to realize a utopia:

According to a master plan by Ai Weiwei, they shall build within a few months a park which will form the center of a new district in the Chinese provincial town of Jinhua. Where green fields stand and farmers plow their land, investors, new residents and reforms are expected. But the work is dragging on for years. The euphoria of the beginnings clashes with a reality in which the torn up earth and the high hopes of politicians, workers and residents are the only tangible things.

«An impressive film that tells much more about China than one would expect from an architectural film.»
