My interest in film has been with me for several years, both through my studies and through my personal engagement with the medium. I am fascinated by film because, more than almost any other medium, it can bring new realities closer to me and immerse me in tought-provoking subjects. I am particularly drawn to films that do not follow a straightforward narrative but instead break with conventional storytelling and challenge the way we look at certain subjects.
I find this particularly important in documentary filmmaking, where I am also interested in continually questioning the very forms and conventions of storytelling. Especially, I find myself thinking about questions of one's own position and responsibility as a filmmaker: Am I the right person to tell this story? Whose voices do I give space to? Is this perspective authentic, and who does it actually belong to? And why is it important to tell this story from this particular perspective?
Alongside my internship at Mira Film, I have a passion for visual design and spend a lot of my time illustrating and painting.
