Reas

A film by Lola Arias

Synopsis

Yoseli's back is adorned with a tattoo of the Eiffel Tower. She dreams of travelling to Paris, but is arrested at the airport for drug trafficking. Nacho is a trans man who is sent to prison after a fraud, where he forms a rock band. And Noelia simply doesn't want to end up on the street again. Whether meek or tough, blonde or shaved, cis or trans, recently or long imprisoned: in this colourful musical, they all play out their lives in Buenos Aires women's prison.

REAS is a collective work that reinvents the film musical: the performers dance and sing about their true past in prison. They revive their lives as fiction and dream up a possible future for themselves in their imagination. In trance-balance, vogueing and in the rock band.
