Biography

I appreciate documentary films that create ambiguity and thereby challenge my everyday views and yet let me leave the cinema with the vivid feeling of having understood a new perspective a little better.

During my interdisciplinary Eastern European studies university course, a film studies focus increasingly crystallised for me. I was particularly interested in war films and documentaries on social and political issues. Following this interest, I wrote my bachelor's thesis on the long-term-study documentary film "René" by Czech filmmaker Helena Třeštíková. Želimir Žilnik's films and those of the Razpežkina School also touched and engaged me. However, I also found the working methods at university increasingly restrictive and the products from it only accessible to a small community. That's why I'm delighted to be able to gain an insight into the production side of documentary films at Mira Film.
